Sales Director - Consumer Products
Salary: Base circa £75,000 + Bonus + Other Benefits
Fiskars, our client, is a leading global supplier of branded consumer products for the home, garden and leisure markets. The company’s products are renowned worldwide for their quality, cutting-edge design and performance. Key clients within the UK include the likes of B&Q, Homebase, Kingfisher, Wicks, Asda and Sainsburys.
There is a core requirement to recruit a Sales Director to be based in Birmingham and report to the UK Managing Director.
Core responsibilities will entail the following:
Drive forward sales, enhance customer relationships and improve overall performances with key accounts
In doing so, oversee multiple channels and products with a range of customers
Drive, manage and re-shape the UK sales team as well as oversee agents
Significant strategic contribution to the running, management and growth of the UK business
Knowledge, Experience & Traits
To be suitable for this role this high calibre individual is likely to currently be a Senior National Accounts Manager or National Accounts Director within the consumer products field. The person will be highly ambitious, intelligent and commercially minded with a branded consumer products background in any of the following areas: DIY, garden products, hand tools or house wares. The preference is for someone to have DIY experience but as mentioned above, the right person could have a background in any one of these other areas.
To summarise, suitable candidates may have the following type of expertise:
Experience of working within recognised global consumer products businesses, ideally within the area of DIY (Preferably, EMEA sales/accounts experience with premium brands)
Proven experience of driving forwards successful sales and managing multiple national accounts within retail environments i.e. a credible track record of key and successful customer management and relationship development
Strong sales team management experience – a background of managing National Account Managers, mentoring and leading people successfully
‘Scalability’ – a progressive and ambitious individual
Channel management knowledge and expertise
National account experience with the likes of B&Q and Homebase would be a real plus
Experience of working within matrix structures would be a ‘nice to have’
