Project Manager

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Cobra Biomanufacturing Plc is one of the leading manufacturers of biopharmaceutical products in the UK. They devise innovative, streamlined and optimised solutions to overcome the hurdles in manufacturing proteins, viruses, DNA, and cell products. They now seek a highly experienced Project Manager to take control of their largest ever biomanufacturing contract.

This new contract is for the scale up and validation of a biological based pharmaceutical manufacturing process, currently undergoing phase III clinical trials, which will lead to an on-going contract for the commercial manufacture of the product. This role will be crucial to the successful ongoing relationship.

The successful candidate will join the Project Management function and will be responsible for managing a cross-functional project team (Process Science / scale-up, manufacturing, QA, QA, Logistics). You will be a strong and influential leader able to feel comfortable managing staff from a range of disciplines. This role will report to the Director of Contract Management based in Keele and the successful candidate will therefore need to be an effective self starter and be able to demonstrate a high level of independence and autonomy.

In simple terms the role will be:


To ensure that project activities are undertaken in a manner consistent with procedures relating toHSE and GMP

Provide leadership, drive and direction to the project team.

Act as the primary interface and point of contact between Cobra and the customer

Establish timelines for project delivery and identify and manage project risks to ensure successful delivery.

Use appropriate planning tools to manage the project activity

To work with the Director of Contract Management to develop improved project development processes for the business.

Candidates will have a science degree or equivalent and be able to show previous project management experience within a bio-pharmaceutical business.
