Software Engineer

Salary: £ Excellent

We are currently seeking an ambitious development engineer for a leading Consultancy's renewable energy software engineering team. The role is Bristol based and will have an emphasis on being a facilitator/ interface between the Engineering teams, Clients, and the Software Development team.

This opportunity is an exciting prospect for the right candidate and offers a rare opportunity to move into a meritocratic, consistently expanding, sector leader. Salary is 35-43k.

The client's product is in use globally particularly in the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector and the successful candidate will be working with stakeholders globally and particularly with the core engineering teams in the UK and Germany.

For a bright and enthusiastic individual with a background in engineering, physics or meteorology, and experience of software engineering, this is a fantastic opportunity. It would allow that individual to draw on all elements of their background in a rapidly expanding, and highly desirable market sector.

The development engineer will have the following primary responsibilities:

o Prioritize and manage development schedule.
o Develop and refine specifications.
o Use logic to map out requirements effectively in specifications, and feedback to all stakeholders
o Provide user support as part of the global support function.
o Maintain lines of communication with all involved parties.

As such the right development engineer will be able to demonstrate:

o A proven background in Engineering, Physics or Meteorology
o Experience in interfacing with a software development team (An 'Agile' environment)
o A proven ability to transcribe a technical problem into efficient algorithms and modules
o The ability to work under pressure and mediate between stakeholders
o The ability to clearly communicate in English, including technical communications.
o A genuine interest in the renewable energy sector
o Experience in large software projects ideally in a similar role (non industry specific)
o Experience with: Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Visual C++, C#
o Experience with Matlab, Mathcad and other engineering software
o Preferably a second language (German would be particularly useful)
