Current Roles

Director of Nursing Homes
Salary: Competitive

St Monica Trust is a £500M charitable foundation that offers specialist care and support for older people through a unique blend of welcoming retirement villages and specialist care homes across Bristol and North Somerset.

Putting people at the heart of the Trust’s work has always been what matters most and it’s this approach that has led to it becoming nationally and internationally recognised as experts in care.

The aim is to consistently improve the quality of these services and, at the same time, increase the scale and range of donations that the charity can make to other good causes.

Role:

Within the Trust are 4 large high-quality residential care homes providing a wide range of care services and run by experienced care home managers.  The home in Keynsham, Charterhouse, is an example of St Monica Trust’s commitment to best practice under the restrictions resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Delivering the best possible clinical care to its residents is obviously the trust’s main priority and the appointment of this new role will bring experience of delivering high quality services that exceed customer expectations, whilst operating within tight and defined commercial parameters. This new role will be expected to bring a clear strategic vision and be accountable for driving business performance.

Supported by a team of discipline and technical specialists, the Director of Nursing Homes will have overall responsibility for achieving occupancy targets, ensuring quality targets are maintained in the day to day operations. This will lead to the embedding of best practice and service improvement to ensure regulatory compliance and the formal CQC recognition of Outstanding.

Part of the role involves contract management, negotiating and managing contract beds and

maintaining relationships with commissioning bodies. This will also include the management of internal service contracts, ensuring efficiency and value for money.

Ideal candidate;

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Manager with a track record of leadership within a multi-site care environment and of particular value will be the specialist skills and management experience associated with providing a complex nursing service to older people. Also included will be experience of managing large, multi- disciplinary teams, services and budgets.

A nursing qualification would be an advantage and this role could suit someone with previous experience at regional or national level.

We are looking for someone who is able to inspire and lead a large team of professionals to deliver exceptional results.

Opportunity:

St Monica Trust is a well-established and well-funded organisation whose impact stretches beyond its care homes and retirement villages.

This is an opportunity to join and lead an exceptional team of 1200 staff across 4 care homes who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and adaptability during the Covid-19 pandemic and continued to deliver the best care and support. You will be expected to manage a dedicated team and contribute to the growth and development of St Monica Trust as a whole.

Recognition will come in the form of a competitive salary as well as the recognition for supporting the contribution the Trust makes to Bristol and North Somerset. Please apply with a current CV.
