Head of Sales
Salary: Highly competitive package


Our client is a market-leading business within the UK’s private label food and drinks sector (with a growing own label presence). It sells to many, if not all, of the major retailers in the UK and continues to enjoy strong profitability.

Following a promotion, our client seeks to appoint the best possible person to join as Head of Sales. This person will lead a small sales team (and a small marketing team if appropriate) and work closely with the MD to expand the company’s current product range, across various categories, at their existing, enviable, client base.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, develop and implement account sales plans appropriate for UK retail channels (grocery, convenience, wholesale, discount and online) to achieve volume & value sales and deliver against company profit objectives
  2. Lead and manage the sales and marketing team. A mix of marketing and account managers.
  3. Conduct regular business reviews with relevant customer contacts to develop effective relationships and identify opportunities their UK business. Manage all negotiations including cost price increases, NPD launches, distribution and contract terms.
  4. Be a category partner to its largest customers, providing category insight, market data and knowledge as required.

What skills are required?

  • Potential to operate at a Leadership level, actively contribute to the strategy and planning of the UK business.
  • Experience of managing large grocery accounts at a senior level with proven ability to develop existing and potential customers. Probably currently a Senior National Account Manager at a large food / drink producer.

Remuneration

By negotiation, although expected to be in the range of salary: £60,000 – £65,000 + £5,000 car allowance + 6% bonus
