Our client is a leading design, engineering and landscape architecture consultancy offering a range of planning, design and engineering solutions. Flood and Water Management

Their dedicated Flood and Water Management team are experienced and passionate about providing solutions that deliver multiple benefits for people, nature and the built environment. They work with a range of public and private sector clients, supporting their needs through the assessment and design of flood alleviation schemes, drainage and green infrastructure, as well as planning processes and public consultations.

The Flood and Water Management division is very successful, and the business has highlighted this discipline as a key area of growth for the business. They have a technically strong team with a great culture and are now looking to strengthen at leadership level to help drive the business forward and expand their services to both public and private sector clients. 

The Role – Director and Discipline Lead

Due to growth, a significant opportunity exists in London for an experienced commercially aware Director to lead the Flood and Water Management Division.

Candidates will preferably be chartered engineers with proven people management experience. They will be responsible for bring additional leadership, energy, and vigour into the business and to assist in developing new and existing clients, increasing profitability. It is essential that the individual has a minimum of 5 – 10 years’ industry experience, possessing a strong technical and commercial background. 

The role requires exceptional communication skills, someone who is capable of identifying and developing new business and clients, while also ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. People of interest could be experienced industry figures open to a new opportunity as well as “stars of the future” ready to take the next step up in their career.

Candidate Profile – Essential Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer or qualified by experience Experience of tendering for and winning framework agreements Commercially aware team leader with excellent communication skills. Proven ability to deliver projects, meeting timescales, quality and financial targets.
  • Collaborative approach to delivering solutions to clients’ requirements.
  • Track record of winning business and developing productive long-term client relationships. Experience of growing and developing a team
