Business Development Director

Our client specialises in precision engineering and manufacturing services to a broad range of customers.

Since its formation in 1968, they have built extensive expertise in a number of selected focused industry sectors including Medical, Energy, Semi-conductor and Aerospace. The key to the company’s success is customer focus, with 90% of business resulting in repeat work from clients.

The business comprises of three sites, allowing them to provide a broad services range and the ability to provide flexibility of supply. They have built their reputation and increased quality of the business over time by investing and putting in place a strong management team. The company benefits from the support of the parent group and given their pedigree, now provides a range of services and capabilities.

Requirement

Our client is a versatile business with customers in a number of markets. With recent economic changes there exists now an opportunity to develop further into their current customers or, more importantly, develop customer work within different market areas. Areas of particular interest would be Rail and Energy environments where the requirement for high quality precision manufactured equipment and components is consistent.

As such the best way they are able to achieve this is with an individual who will lead the activity and development of new high margin work. The role will form part of the senior management team and operate across the group.

Business Development Director

Responsibilities:

Set and deliver a strategic business development plan
Establish relationships within new customers in order to develop high margin orders
Develop sales processes which are repeatable and effective
Manage prospect information and record activity for analysis
Work alongside senior management team and colleagues to deliver projects as they are secured
Develop relationships with new customers to create long term partnerships

Requirements:

An established track record in sales and business development.
Experience operating and selling sub-contract manufacturing services
Demonstrable success developing high value work with a variety of clients
An established customer network in markets which will provide long term, profitable work
Sufficient technical knowledge to understand customer requirements and involve the most appropriate people
IT proficient with the willingness to use data appropriately
