District Energy (CHP) Lead Consultant / Associate Director

Our client is a leading engineering, design and consultancy company with more than 200 offices in 22 countries, they feature among the 10 leading energy consultancies in Europe.

They have a requirement for a Lead Consultant in the District Energy sector to manage and assist in leading consulting, business development and client business development initiatives and portfolios in order to develop sustainable, profitable client relationships, profitable sources of revenue and operational efficiency.

Primary responsibilities will be:

Assists on initiatives to strengthen and deepen client relationships in District Energy.
Builds on existing and seeks new client contacts and business relationships in order to contribute to the development of District Energy work, with a focus on profitability in order to achieve personal, team, PBU and sales targets.
Consistently demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit when positioning the company's District Energy capabilities to be able to influence its consulting markets.
Takes the lead in managing consulting projects of all sizes including maintaining or assisting in client contact developing required engineering/technical/functional resource and having oversight of consulting staff.
Provides mentoring and coaching to staff within the District Energy team.
Manages the design and execution of client solutions and projects. Encourages the development of innovative ideas and approaches in creating competitive advantage, value creating client solutions and in generating new sources of revenue.
Suggests improvement of existing processes, procedures and standards with particular focus on those related to business and sales development and revenue generation and adheres to the principles of the Project Excellence Life Cycle.
Maintain technical and professional excellence throughout
Represent the team in industry forums such as conferences, exhibitions and seminars.
Working in the UK and as part of an international team, with the need to attend meetings and business trips away from the office.
Candidate Profile

Skills, knowledge and experience:

Has significantly contributed to the development, growth and strengthening of profitable client business relationships and business development within District Energy.
Has widespread experience of taking the lead on District Energy projects and in acting as an engineering / technical / functional resource.
Demonstrates strong consulting and business acumen as well as strong engineering, technical and functional acumen, in District Energy.
Has excellent English language skills (written and oral), coupled with strong communication (written and oral) and negotiating skills and a very good capability to mentor and coach junior consultants.
Background in technical and engineering consultancy or client organisation within District Energy or technology suppliers  – CHP / District Heating/boilers/ (technical or business development role)
Proven ability to deliver projects, meeting timescales, quality and financial targets.
Collaborative approach to delivering solutions to clients’ requirements.
Confident working in project teams, principally as leader, other times as supporting member.
Degree qualified in relevant field with Extensive commercial experience. Professionally credible and authoritative as a technical expert. C Eng Status desirable.
