Energy and Infrastructure Safety & Risk Senior Consultant

Salary: Circa £70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience

The successful candidate will operate within our client\'s environmental  team, taking a lead technical role in the delivery of projects and the maintenance of strong client relationships, with an emphasis on repeat business.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Project execution and project management: ensure projects are delivered to the highest quality and within budgeted cost and time thereby ensuring quality of service delivery
  • Make prospect visits to explain and position offerings in order to develop new business, identify client requirements, scope of projects and produce proposals
  • Develop strong working relationships with existing customers to secure continuous revenue streams, formulating proposals for follow-on work
  • Match client requirements and expectations with the abilities of team members and assign team members to appropriate projects;
  • Provide specialist safety risk assessment services that enable oil and gas industry clients to manage their risk in a prioritised and effective manner
  • Assist with the design of risk management systems and/or conduct specific risk analysis, using the full spectrum of technical solutions
  • Drive forward the competitiveness of the team and thereby the company
  • Provide technical support to account managers throughout the delivery process
  • Organise and prepare proposals
  • Attend trade shows and conferences as necessary
  • Conduct market research, market analysis and competitor analysis
  • Experience of the application of modelling tools to oil and gas related applications

Personal Attributes

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and acknowledged leadership experience gained ideally within an Engineering Consultancy
  • Experience as a Safety/Risk Consultant in the Oil & Gas sector
  • A minimum of a Bachelors honours degree in an engineering, science or other numerate discipline, preferably with a higher/further degree (MSc, MBA or PhD)
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution would be advantageous
  • Highly skilled and competent with a proactive attitude
  • Communicate risk judgments clearly and effectively
  • Able to work independently as well as an integral team member
  • Able to prioritise scheduled tasks and react proactively to the unexpected
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad
