Sales and Marketing Director - Specialist Cleaning Services
Salary: circa £70k + exec package

To manage, organise and motivate the sales team to achieve specific targets, with both new and existing accounts. This is achieved through long term planning, marketing and franchise sales. The Head of Sales and Marketing will develop and operate sales strategies to assist our client in the achievement of its local and corporate business objectives.
Provide leadership of the Sales team, setting sales objectives and targets. The appointee will be responsible for the development and support of the individual members of the sales team identifying training and developmental needs through appraisal and observation.
Identify the commercial risks within each account and provide viable suggestions on how to manage the risk identified so as to provide senior management with the necessary information to make decisions on minimising risk.
Analyse competitors’ strengths, price trends and the company’s share of different market segments, ensuring broad market awareness.
Implement effective quality assurance procedures are in place to ensure that the sales process, including costing, bid documentation and presentations, conveying a highly professional image of the company at all times.
Ensure that company policies and procedures are complied with and that documentation is maintained. Where deficiencies are identified initiate the appropriate corrective action.
Provide guidance and support for Marketing function, ensuring that the strategy is aligned with both sales and overall business strategy.
Represent the division and the company at site visits, presentations and other meetings as required, in order to develop relationships with our existing and potential customers.
Communicate effectively with colleagues within the division and across the company so that information is disseminated effectively and participate in sales forums and other project groups and meeting as required.
As a member of the senior management team to actively contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the division.
Develop and manage relationships at an appropriate level with our customers and other prospects.
Skills and Experience Required
- Must have proven experience and a working knowledge of sales and marketing management in a transferable B2B commercial environment
- Experience of executing a tactical sales plan, in a robust and disciplined manner
- Experience of managing both an in-house and field based team
- Accomplished at conflict resolution, negotiation and other interpersonal skills
- Strong results orientated approach
- Understanding of time management within a multifunctional role
- Proven ability to build, develop and motivate a strong and efficient sales / marketing function
- First-rate listening skills, strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ideally encourage a coaching / development approach amongst the team
- Outstanding strategic and conceptualisation skills and ability to provide strategic direction
