Current Roles

Business Development Manager

Salary: Excellent Basic - Suberb OTE

Our Client recently acquired a leading US Enterprise Asset Management software business. The UK arm of the acquired business is well established (17 years) and has significant Clients (with over 40,000 Units total) for its FLEET & FUEL management software. Supported by our Clients' UK core operation, the EAM software business aims for fast growth through cross selling and in new "fleet" markets.

Working to the UK Director of the business and with his active support, the Business Development Manager (BDM) will also liaise closely with the Parent Company's sales force to maximize cross-selling opportunities. The BDM will play a major part in setting and reviewing targets.

The role is a new business development one to identify major organisations- with self-maintained fleets of 1500 units or more - in the Public and Private sectors and generate relationships and win contracts, over extended sales cycles, with order values in excess of £100k for product licences, implementation, maintenance and enhancement. Products are cutting edge PC and web based software suites for fleet and fuel management that are multi-lingual and 'real time'. They offer big cost and efficiency savings to customers

Sectors to be targeted include utilities, construction, transport & logistics, Local Authorities, bus operators and Government departments. Pan European operators will also be targeted.

You will be an experienced sales professional, well trained and able to demonstrate a record of successful 'hunting' rather than account management 'farming' within the 'Fleet' sector and have a profile with and knowledge of key decision makers in the sector for "solutions" and ideally software based sales.

Well educated and probably from a transportation or engineering background, you will be comfortable in a technical, benefit driven sale that includes "show & tell" demonstration of products and have experience of generating & closing sales with values at or in excess of the £30k to £50k range.

Proactive and confident, you will have the 'can do' attitude & persuasive skills to sell a premium priced product & build strong relationships over extended sales cycles.

You will be comfortable working solo, in team scenarios & have a flexible attitude to the travel requirements of the role.

Reward potential matches the role challenge & the skills required!
