Managing Director

Salary: £80,000 to £100,000 + Bonus

Due to the planned merger of two Group companies that provide complementary services – programme management and enterprise architecture consultancy – and the promotion of the current MD; an opportunity has arisen for an experienced leader with strong operational skills and a sales focus to integrate the businesses and lead its future profitable growth.

The Group is a leading multi-disciplinary management, engineering, science and technology consultancy, operating on a global basis, and serving clients principally in the defence, transport and energy sectors. The Group's companies each focus on particular markets, technologies or geographical areas.

Through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth, the Group has enjoyed significant expansion in recent years and now has a turnover of over £100 million with over 1,000 staff globally based.

One company supports clients in realising maximum affordable capability, assisting them in successfully delivering complex programmes through application of enterprise architecture and programme management techniques. The other subsidiary operates primarily in the Defence market, but has clear potential to operate in any market where clients deliver complex programmes.

Candidates should, ideally, be qualified to masters level in a managerial or related discipline and/or have a strong track record in business development and management of high value consultancy in areas relevant to the merged business.

Candidates must also be able to provide strong evidence of the competencies associated with the post of MD. Specifically; the ability to provide strong leadership, to build and maintain an effective senior management team, excellent influencing and negotiation skills, a track record of effectively managing business growth, the ability to promote a positive performance culture and to flexibly & effectively lead and manage change.

Any experience of delivering technical or complex solutions to the Defence market would be seen as advantageous.
