Business Intelligence Director
Salary: Between £65,000 and £85,000 p.a.

Hazlewoods is a leading regional accountancy firm with 24 partners across 2 principal offices in Cheltenham and Staverton. It ranks 25th largest in the UK.

The firm boasts a full service offering and is both a leader in its regional market as well as a leader in several specialist sectors nationally.

ROLE – BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DIRECTOR

The new BI Director will bring the ability to visualise, design and implement auto reporting dashboards and the detail behind them to the benefit both of Hazlewoods and its clients. They will be someone who has the desire to develop this from practice development into a chargeable income stream, over time.

Working with the existing small and enthusiastic team, the new BI Director will:

• Work with clients to identify business trends and to visualise, design and develop reports that deliver actionable insight and support users in their strategic decision-making process.
• Define, lead and project manage BI projects for clients, producing insightful findings that are instrumental in driving business change.
• Actively promote this new BI specialism through networking, attending client meetings with Partners and developing relevant and insightful marketing material.
• Facilitate change management of reporting options and usage throughout the firm, providing training, support and guidance.

The new BI Director will also have the commercial drive and enthusiasm to transform the in-house expertise in to an income stream, most likely working alongside partners in other teams.

PROFILE

The new Director will most likely be described as:

• A qualified management accountant – desirable but not essential.
• Proven experience of both Power BI and Power Query skills are essential.
• Ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders, particularly the management of some of its clients.
• An enthusiastic team leader, passionate about upskilling a small and enthusiastic team, specifically in the area of Power BI.
• Commercially minded – able to understand clients’ needs and convey the benefits of BI analysis for better decision making.
• Charismatic and an excellent communicator – able to explain complex concepts to a non-expert audience.
•  A proactive contributor to a friendly, supportive, collegial working environment.
• Current or past experience working at an accountancy firm, or other professional services firm, where a mix of technical BI expertise and commercial understanding is easily demonstrable.

LOCATION

Most likely, after an introductory period, the new BI Director can expect to be able to work from home 2 or 3 days per week. Time in the office will likely be at the Cheltenham office.

REMUNERATION

A broad salary range will be considered by Hazlewoods for the right appointment, as reflected across the current team of Directors at the firm. It is understood anyone choosing to join Hazlewoods can expect an uplift upon their current remuneration package. As a guide, the salary range for the new Director might be between £65,000 and £85,000 p.a.
