Area Sales Manager (Capital Equipment)
Salary: Competitive Base Salary + Commissions + Company Car (OTE £85,000)


The Company & Requirement

Our client is a UK subsidiary of a well-established, profitable and growing European Group, which supplies a broad range of CNC, saw`s and equipment to aluminium and PVC companies in the fenestration industry.

Building on the already successful growth of recent years, the company is keen to recruit a suitably experienced Regional Sales Manager to head up relationships with customers in and around the M1 area of the UK. Customers will be across areas such as Warwickshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, through to clients as far south as Kent. Reporting to the company’s UK Managing Director this person will play a pivotal part in the development of new business in the Industrial and Fenestration Manufacturing sectors.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To develop end user sales within the fenestration industry with contracting and manufacturing businesses
  • To manage the accounts of existing customers in these sectors
  • To develop new business, building new end user customer relationships
  • To optimise channel management for the appropriate markets, working with colleagues to ensure the company’s brand is at the forefront of all machine purchase decisions
  • To secure a primary supplier listing for manufacturing equipment with customers
  • To achieve the sales budget for the region
  • To adopt solution selling skills to secure new business
  • To provide advice/product solutions to the end user

The Candidate:

  • Experience in capital equipment sales is a must
  • In addition, experience in hire and leasing would be desirable but not essential
  • Will be highly motivated and a reliable self-starter
  • Ideally, sales experience in selling into the fenestration market or similar
  • Some technical understanding will be required, although full training will be given
  • He/she will be used to working to targets and will have a strong and confident knowledge of products
  • The jobholder will have proven skills in developing customer relationships and will be adept at turning customer problems into solutions
  • The RSM will relish new business development, will enjoy the challenge of exceeding sales targets and will be comfortable with ‘cold calling’ activities.
  • He/she will hold a full, clean driving licence
  • The job requires the individual to be hands and demonstrate and train on equipment in a clear and confident manner.
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback be considered
