Our client is a well-established and market leading digital office solutions company. The business has enjoyed exceptional success and fast growth and is now a c£250m turnover company. With growth plans to be at £1 billion in 5 years. As the business grows a new Operations Director is required to bring management change to achieve excellence in service, delivery, engineering, logistics and supply chain.
The Operations Director will report directly to the Board as part of the Senior Management Team and lead a team of over 600 people. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that all operational aspects of the company are run profitably, effectively and efficiently.
Specific areas of responsibility will include installation, engineering and servicing, call control and operation, logistics and supply chain as well as IT, including professional services and IT support.
The Operations Director will also play an important role in growing the business through developing successful relationships with customers in a broad range of organisations.
The role will have focus on operational improvement, change and excellence in this fast growing environment.
There is further change, growth and diversification anticipated within the business and therefore the Operations Director will be required to work in a flexible, dynamic environment with the autonomy to shape and build the teams accordingly.
Candidates will have a demonstrable track record of success in Senior Operational Management in the provision of technical products or services in the B2B commercial environment. Experience will have been gained in the successful management of engineers including servicing, installation and technical customer support; call control operations; supply chain and logistics as well as IT.
It is envisaged that candidates will have held Operational Director roles in a business with a £100m+ turnover or potentially have been a Senior Operations Manager (effectively a ‘number two’) in larger businesses.
Candidates will have had a demonstrable track record of success in planning, managing and completing operational change and improvement. Experience gained in the successful operational integration of acquired business will be a distinct advantage.
