Senior Field Geologist

Based full time in the field, you will be focusing on major coal projects in Indonesia.

The position reports to the Exploration Manager and will include the following key priorities:

·         Strong organizational and planning skills to set up systems and run all site based organization with the ability to ‘make it happen’

·         Requires good people management skills to motivate a team of several field geologists and field technicians and graduate geologists very strong technician background

·         Compile and interpret exploration data with conclusions and recommendations

·         Play a key role in finding new ore bodies and really pursing these opportunities whilst running existing targets

·         Working to JORC/SAMREC/similar resource estimation codes

·         Plan, supervise and execute reconnaissance and detailed geological mapping, geochemical sampling, and drilling campaigns, supervise entry of geological data into the database

·         Prepare geological maps, summary of drill logs and reports as required by the Exploration Manager

·         Supervise field logistics and/or delegate these duties to Field Geologists, as required.

Essential requirements of the role include:

·         Minimum 5-10 years experience of coal, iron or industrial minerals geology

·         Exposure and experience of all stages of mineral exploration, from grassroots to resource estimation and pre-feasibility studies

·         Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (ideally MS Access and/or MS Project) and exploration software packages.

Experience in the Indonesian mining sector will be a significant advantage. Due to the nature of the company, it is highly likely that projects will evolve into Sumatra, Thailand, Malaysia and other South East Asian nations.
