Job description:
The role of Sales Director, managing a team of six field sales executives, is a crucial one in the further development of this division of the company and will encompass a number of strands of responsibility:-
The Role:
- A hands-on sales management role, showing personal leadership and creating a must-win mindset in the team, through target setting, monitoring and achievement - using mentoring, coaching and support techniques in an ongoing, structured selling campaign. This will include direct involvement in winning deals
- Thorough marketplace analysis to gain deeper understanding of client needs and drivers; interpreting and using the knowledge gained to assess and develop sales methods and focus effort and resources effectively
- Setting the strategy and agenda for development of the company offering and 'brand' image and liaising closely with the technical and operational teams to ensure customer satisfaction and future products that match market aspirations

The Requirement:
- You will be a proven performer at Sales Director or Manager level, with substantial hands-on experience in a B2B 'capital equipment sales' environment and the sales and profit delivery record to substantiate this
- You will have undergone structured and ongoing sales training and development and have managed teams working remotely, ideally throughout the UK
- You will have sold personally and managed sales, to owner/manager businesses operating fleets of vehicles (cars, vans or HGV), ideally with exposure to IT, mobile communications or tracking / navigation type products and associated services
- You will be a direct and forceful communicator, displaying the gravitas to gain both respect and loyalty from a team and to engage with and influence clients at the decision maker level
- You will be organised and analytical, a natural decision maker yourself and able to negotiate effectively
