Description:
Our client is one of the UK's fastest growing independently owned waste and recycling businesses. The company has achieved the highest growth rate of any waste management company in the UK over the last three years. The business is seeking a high calibre individual to head up and develop the company's sales function.



The company is looking for an individual with the skills to build a strong sales organisation from relatively small beginnings. This is a rare opportunity for the right individual to join a company enjoying enviable success and build, coach and mentor a team without taking on a great deal of legacy sales people and preconceived ways of working.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Development and delivery of sales strategy to meet company strategic objectives

     

  • Management and development of sales staff

     

  • Achievement of sales targets

     

  • Recruitment of sales staff

     

  • Active engagement in the sales process with key prospects

     

  • Ensuring that all sales processes and procedures are followed

     

  • All sales staff use the company CRM system to track and report on sales

     

  • Sales reporting and forecasting

     

  • Member of the senior management executive committee

     

  • Ensuring a high standard of work is consistently achieved by sales staff


The Objective/Subjective Requirements:

    The right candidate will be able to demonstrate having built and run a successful sales team and have experience of having managed a consultative sales environment.


The company is seeking a hands-on individual that will lead by example and genuinely mentor the sales team.


  • Experience in waste is not essential but an awareness is desirable.

     

  • Experience of selling a managed service is desirable

     

  • Experience of managing large tender processes

     

  • Highly numerate with excellent commercial acumen and negotiating skills

     

  • Very driven and ambitious both individually and for their team
