Exploration Manager

Based in Jakarta on a 5-2 FIFO roster, this role will require extensive travel to various projects throughout Borneo.  You will be responsible for overseeing all coal exploration programmes and assist in providing technical support to business development, budgeting, etc.

 The position reports to the Operations Manager and will include the following key priorities:

·         Surveying and mapping geologically promising sites

·         Working to JORC/SAMREC/similar resource estimation codes

·         Collecting, recording and analyzing samples and data from test sites and advising on the development of reserves

·         Manage district and regional scale programs to ensure their focus on the rapid generation of drilling targets or relinquishment

·         Generate and manage projects budgets on annual basis

·         Maintain a network of industry professionals and ensure the Company is aware of all exploration acquisitions opportunities in the region

·         Manage all exploration contracts, including, but not limited to , drilling, and surveying

·         Ensure all activities are in compliance with all conditions of the mining license, government departments and agencies, including health and safety.

Essential requirements of the role include:

·         15 years + experience in mining geology, with a significant proportion of this focused on coal

·         Exposure and experience of all stages of mineral exploration, from grassroots to resource estimation and pre-feasibility studies

·         A degree in Geology is the minimum academic requirement

·         Knowledge of a range of sciences, their applications and the ability work within multidisciplinary teams

·         Good organizational skills with a high level of verbal and written communication

·         Computer literate and familiar with industry standard software modeling packages.

Experience in the Indonesian mining sector will be a significant advantage. Due to the nature of the company, it is highly likely that projects will evolve into Sumatra, Thailand, Malaysia and other South East Asian nations.
