Our client is an exciting fast growth renewable energy supplier with international operations. The company is involved in project development, finance, design, construction, operation and maintenance of international small scale power-generating and energy delivery projects. The Company owns and operates 75+ power stations and has total installed generation capacity of circa 600MW.
The Requirement
The company have the requirement to recruit an Environmental Engineer/Compliance Manager. You will provide technical assistance to assist the design, construction and maintenance of gasfields within the company's portfolio.
Core Role & Responsibilities
- Ensuring environmental compliance at UK sites
- Technical liaison with landfill operators - Liaison meetings and discussions about installing gasfields, gasfield performance, tipping plans etc
- Information gathering for the updating of mathematical models for forecasting and evaluating gas resources
- Effective communication and liaison between landfill operators, Environmental regulators and staff
- Development and design of landfill gas extraction systems
- Prepare project Safety Plans in accordance with the Construction Design & Management Regulations
- Liaison with in-house design engineers and CAD operators regarding design of collection systems
Key Skills & Expertise Required
- Proven experience within the environmental compliance field, ideally with power stations
- Able to work responsibly within a project team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet design and database management
- Enthusiastic and self motivated
- Able to work without direct supervision
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in an appropriate technical discipline such as Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Environmental Science
