Our client is a specialist international renewable energy company, involved in project development, finance, design, construction, operation and maintenance of a wide range of power-generating and energy delivery projects across the globe. There is the key requirement to recruit an experienced operations manager/director from the power generation industry for the role of GM, European Operations.

Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the European Managing Director the core roles and responsibilities include:

- Leadership of the European operations management team

- OHS&E performance & leadership; Maintaining safe working environments at all operating locations with a zero harm target

- Ensure compliance with contractual and EA regulatory requirements relating to operating sites

- EBITDA and ROA performance against operating and capital budgets

- Management of the completion, submission and delivery of annual budgets using a bottom up process including site based Chargehands, Supervisors and Managers

- Maximise production through proactive maintenance procedures

- Procurement of services on a best cost, best service basis

Background & Experience

Suitable candidates are likely to possess the following:

- Significant operational management experience with companies in the Power Generation or Large Processing Industries

- A first class knowledge of Health & Safety related to power generation or process plants, with a credible track record

- Commercially astute with experience of contract management

- A professionally trained engineer by profession

- Notable experience of managing large teams, relationships with suppliers and other third parties

- Strong awareness/knowledge regarding finances and accounting
