Our client is an international multi-disciplinary consultancy. The company's Mining Services Group works worldwide and is one of the principal European-based providers of professional and technical services to the mining sector. Due to growth and expansion, the business has the important requirement to recruit a Director level individual to lead and manage the Coal Division.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Strategic development of the mining sector business

- Management of Technical Directors and technical teams, including responsibility for staffing, deployment, performance, quality, bidding, deliverables, discipline and the efficient running of the Coal group.

- Financial accountability for one of the company's divisions

- Business development and selling of the company's range of mining services, with particular responsibility for energy minerals, in accordance with the business plan and budgets and targets agreed each year.

- Management and delivery of client projects; it is expected that the Director will have a deployment of about 60% on chargeable work.

- Responsibility for specific initiatives or overseas offices as agreed with or delegated by the Board of Directors.

Experience Requirements:

- Extensive post graduation mining sector experience - must have a background in coal.

- Individuals will have consultancy backgrounds but suitable candidates may come with operator experience as well.

- Sub Saharan mining experience and knowledge would be preferable.

- Candidates should have a technical background to degree or equivalent level and experience in the mining industry, most likely as a geologist or mining engineer.
