Candidate Referencing
Appointing a candidate whose background reveals significant shortcomings can seriously damage the reputation of a business. Novo Executive Search and Selection provide a dedicated Candidate Referencing service that is designed to complement and enhance our core executive search capability. Every major board appointment candidate is the subject of a rigorous and thoughtful reference check that includes:
- talking formally to named referees
- talking informally to unnamed referees and business contacts that we have identified using our extensive internal database. The reference can either be attributable or non-attributable, depending on the situation
- an internet and international media search of all published information
- a full psychometric profile and skills assessment, if required
- confirm all directorships and check for disqualifications
- confirm all academic and professional qualifications, including professional memberships

The candidate reference is summarised and included in the shortlist pack that clients receive for each candidate. It provides an additional insight into the candidates' management style and capability that is not always possible to uncover at interview. It also sheds further light on candidates' personal style, character and motivation.
Furthermore, we offer this stand-alone reference "product" independently of our executive search and selection service. This is particularly valuable in cases where a client wants a rigorous, independent check of a potential candidate, who has not been introduced by Novo Executive Search and Selection.
Psychometric Profiling

Novo Executive Search and Selection consultants are trained and accredited, in line with The British Psychological Society Guidelines, to run and interpret psychometric profiling.
Hogrefe Ltd is one of the UK's best known publishers and distributor of psychometric tests, testing software and training for those wishing to use tests. Their products and services are designed to help clients enhance their assessment activities by improving the quality of information on which such decisions are based.
What is Psychometric Profiling?
Quite literally-Measurement of the Mind. If we wanted to know your height we would use a tape measure; for your weight we would use scales.
Personality attributes, aptitudes and abilities are far less tangible and certainly far less easily measured and to provide insight into these areas, the psychometric profiling test was developed.
